Salon billing software

Salon billing that remembers the client, not just the bill.

A billing app gives you a GST invoice. JBMOnboard360 gives you the invoice plus the client's visit history, their prepaid balance, the package sittings they have left, the products used on them and the stylist who served them, so the front desk and the owner see the same numbers.

First, be honest about the alternatives

When a free billing app is enough

If your salon is one chair or one counter, you mostly need a GST bill, a daily total and a stock count, and you are happy keeping client details in your phone, then a free or low-cost billing app such as Vyapar, myBillBook or GimBooks will do the job. They are built for invoicing and accounts, they are cheap, and your CA probably already knows them.

Salon software earns its cost when the problems are no longer about the bill itself:

  • Clients ask "how many sittings do I have left?" and nobody can answer without a register.
  • Prepaid cards are tracked in a notebook or a spreadsheet, and balances don't match.
  • You can't see which stylist brings repeat clients, or which services make money after product cost.
  • You have more than one branch and want one view of sales, clients and staff.
  • Enquiries arrive on WhatsApp and Instagram, and half of them are never followed up.

If two or more of those sound familiar, read on. If not, keep the billing app.

What's in it

Billing, plus everything around the bill

GST bills at the right rate

Salon services are 5% GST without input tax credit since 22 September 2025. Set your default SAC and rate once; products keep their own HSN and rate on the same bill. GST shows only when your GSTIN is entered.

CGST + SGST or IGST

Chosen by comparing your branch's state with the client's, so you don't pick it by hand on every bill.

PDF, link and WhatsApp

Every invoice has a unique number, a PDF and a link you can send to the client in WhatsApp from the bill screen.

Client history

Each client record holds visits, invoices, notes, forms and documents, so a new stylist knows what was done last time.

Prepaid cards

Recharge-first wallets: the client tops up, the card is redeemed against services, and every recharge gets its own invoice.

Packages

Sell a package of sittings, redeem one per visit and set an expiry date. The client's remaining sittings are on their record.

Products and stock

Keep a product list, and deduct the products used in a service from stock at each visit, so retail and back-bar stock both stay honest.

Payments and dues

Record cash, UPI or card payments against bills and see unpaid amounts in receivables and ageing.

Staff and branches

Staff attendance, leave, roles and permissions, and separate branches, each with its own clients and staff, that the owner switches between from one login.

A day at the front desk

What changes when billing sits inside the client record

  1. Booking. A client books through your online booking link or calls. The request comes in for approval and lands on the day's list, with the chair or room it needs.
  2. Check-in. The receptionist opens the client and sees last visit, prepaid balance and package sittings left, before the client has sat down.
  3. Service. The stylist adds what was done. Products used come off stock.
  4. Billing. The bill picks up the services at 5% and any retail products at their own rate. If the client pays from their prepaid card or uses a package sitting, that is recorded against the same visit.
  5. After the visit. The invoice link goes to the client on WhatsApp. If you have set up a follow-up cadence, the next visit reminder is already queued.

The owner sees the same day from the dashboard: revenue, visits and dues.

Salon billing software price in India

JBMOnboard360 Pro is ₹1,999 per user per month billed annually, plus 18% GST, or ₹2,499 per user per month if you pay monthly. "User" means a staff login: a receptionist and an owner are two users. Stylists can be listed as practitioners on bookings without their own login; tell us your team shape during the trial and we'll confirm how many licences you need. There is a 7-day free trial with full access and no card.

Per-user pricing suits a salon where one or two people run the desk. If every stylist needs their own login, compare it against per-outlet salon tools before you decide; we'd rather you pick what fits. Our software pricing guide works through both models.

Questions

Salon billing software questions

What GST rate should salon billing software apply?

5% on beauty and physical well-being services (2.5% CGST + 2.5% SGST), without input tax credit, from 22 September 2025. Products sold at the counter carry their own HSN rate. Check your software's default rate; many still apply 18%.

Can I run salon billing without a GSTIN?

Yes. Until you enter a GSTIN and switch on GST registration, JBMOnboard360 issues plain bills with no tax lines.

Does it handle prepaid cards and packages?

Yes. Prepaid cards work as recharge-first wallets with an invoice for every recharge, and packages count down one sitting per visit with an expiry date. Auto-renewing monthly memberships are not built in.

Can clients pay the bill online?

Not through JBMOnboard360. Take payment on your own UPI QR or card machine and record it against the bill.

Does it file GST returns?

No. JBMOnboard360 produces the invoices and lets you export data. Your CA or accounting software files the returns.

How much does it cost?
