Why it's different
Aesthetic clinics are part clinic, part retail
A dermatology OPD and an aesthetic clinic look similar on a signboard but run differently. The OPD is driven by consultations and prescriptions. The aesthetic side is driven by enquiries from Instagram and Meta ads, multi-session packages for procedures such as peels or laser sessions, product sales and repeat visits. It behaves more like a premium salon with medical oversight than a hospital.
That's why EMR software alone often feels wrong for the aesthetic side: it handles the clinical note well but not the counsellor's pipeline, the package balance or the prepaid wallet. Wallet-style prepaid cards with top-ups and redemptions, each top-up recorded with its own invoice.
Consent and case sheets
Consent forms with e-signature (time and IP recorded), intake forms by QR code and general case-sheet templates for beauty and healthcare clinics.
Chair and room lanes
A day view with each treatment room or machine as a lane and clash detection, so two laser sessions aren't booked on one machine.
Products and consumables
Product catalogue and per-visit consumable deduction, so stock reflects what was used.
GST invoicing
GSTIN, SAC/HSN per line, place of supply and CGST/SGST or IGST worked out from the customer's state.
Multi-branch
Each branch runs its own day; the owner moves between branches from one login. A combined cross-branch report isn't available yet.
GST
GST for aesthetic clinics: why it's not all exempt
Health care services by a clinical establishment or an authorised medical practitioner are exempt from GST under entry 74 of Notification 12/2017-Central Tax (Rate). The definition of health care excludes hair transplant and cosmetic or plastic surgery, except where it is done to restore or reconstruct anatomy or functions affected by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, injury or trauma. Products sold over the counter are taxable goods.
In practice an aesthetic clinic may issue a bill of supply for an exempt consultation and a tax invoice for a cosmetic procedure or a product. Separately, beauty and physical well-being services were moved to 5% GST without input tax credit from 22 September 2025; whether any of your services fall there is a classification question for your chartered accountant. Keep your marketing within the NMC guidelines
The National Medical Commission's guidelines of 6 October 2026 restrict doctors from using patient testimonials, AI-generated outcomes and claims such as "best" or "guaranteed results" in promotion. Doctors remain responsible for content run through agencies and influencers. If your clinic is doctor-led, compete on responsiveness and clarity instead: answer enquiries fast, explain the process, publish your package prices. JBMOnboard360 helps with the first part.

Aesthetic clinic software questions
Can one invoice have both exempt and taxable lines?
You can set the SAC or HSN code and tax rate for each line. Whether a service is exempt or taxable is a classification decision for your chartered accountant; the software applies what you set.
Does it support memberships?
It supports packages with per-visit redemption and expiry, and prepaid cards with top-ups. It doesn't run auto-renewing membership billing.
Can counsellors track ad leads?
Yes. Leads from Meta lead ads, Google lead forms and WhatsApp land in a lead inbox with follow-up reminders, a deals pipeline and a daily digest.
Is it an EMR?
No. It keeps patient records, case sheets, consent and documents for practice management, but it is not an EMR and has no ABDM integration or e-prescriptions.
Can I send offers on WhatsApp?
Yes, to clients who opted in. Broadcasts need an approval before sending and skip anyone who opted out. Meta charges per marketing message delivered.
